These sophisticated shawls are made by Phou Tai women in Savannakhet Province in southern Laos. They are handspun using handwoven cotton that has been naturally tie-dyed with indigo. Edging on the scarf will be off-white or grey. Each shawl and its design pattern is completely unique and represents the individual artists’ style and process.
