These extra large handwoven shawls/throws are made by Phou Tai artisans in Savannakhet Province in southern Laos. Similar to their smaller scarf counterparts, they are made from hand-spun cotton tie-dyed with indigo (ikat technique). All motifs are hand-designed and use natural dyes. Each shawl and its design pattern is completely unique and represents the individual artists’ style and process. They can be also used as wall hangings, throws, or table cloths!
