The case is shaped with a softly rounded top, chamfered corners, and a scalloped apron resting on short cabriole legs. Each drawer front is framed with applied molded decoration in a Louis XV silhouette, giving the piece a sculptural, architectural rhythm despite its small size. The walnut has developed a warm, honeyed surface with the expected variations and darker oxidation in the recesses. Brass knobs add a simple, bright counterpoint. The sides are paneled with arched molded reserves, further echoing period provincial design.
