My recommendation: use a lightweight woven fabric, which presses well such as light linen/viscose mix, light cotton or polyester fabrics. If you want to achieve a tailored trousers look, a fine cotton twill (optionally with a slight stretch) or linen fabric is ideal. Remember to wash your fabric before sewing.
