The product cures when hermetically sealed between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents independent loosening and leaking caused by shock and vibration. Loctite® 270 is particularly suitable for heavyduty applications such as securing studs in engine housings, lock nuts on studs in pump housings, and other screw joints where high strength is required. Loctite® 270 achieves a robust curing performance. The product can be used both on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) and on passive materials such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. The product has high temperature resistance and oil resistance. It tolerates minor surface contamination by various oils such as cutting, lubricating, anti-corrosive and protective oils.
